All of humanity fall under one of two Federal Heads of Mankind. Most people are under Adam, the first man who plunged the world into sin and ruin. Christians are under the Last Adam, Christ, the only God-man who created a new race of the adopted children of God.

Salvation is wholly of the Lord but that doesn't mean we don't participate in the divine nature. God acts and we, by grace through faith, reacts.
God loves you and there's nothing you can do about it so you may as well just get used to it. If he loved you as a sinner he will love and care for you as a saint.
This is the first of three (or four) sermons from Jesus' teachings on the subject from The Sermon on the Mount. It is politically incorrect but biblically correct.

Jesus demands that his followers cut themselves off from all sin, as well as any thing or situation that they know will tempt them to sin.
Beginning in chapter five Paul tells the Roman Christians that they are at peace with God. He also helps them understand "the tenses of salvation."
